Seasonal Programs

The yard work with a deadline.

Mulch, aeration, overseeding, leaf removal, and winterization only work inside their calendar windows. Greenline's four seasonal programs put your property on the right week of the right month — automatically, every year.

The program ladder

Four programs. One calendar.

Each program is a fixed scope at a posted starting price, scheduled by season — not by when you remember to call. Bundle two or more and each additional program is 10% off.

March – April

Spring Cleanup & Mulch

From $650 per visit

The reset that makes the whole year easier. We clear winter debris, cut crisp bed edges, and lay fresh mulch before Atlanta's April growth flush.

  • Full-property debris removal and haul-away
  • Spade-cut bed edging on every bed line
  • Double-ground hardwood mulch, 2–3 inch depth
  • Pre-emergent weed treatment in beds
  • First-mow prep: deck height set for fescue or Bermuda

Most time-criticalSeptember – October

Fall Aeration & Overseed

From $425 per lawn

The six-week window that decides what your fescue looks like next June. Core aeration relieves Georgia clay compaction; overseeding fills it in thick.

  • Double-pass core aeration (plugs left to break down)
  • Turf-type tall fescue overseed, 6 lb per 1,000 sq ft
  • Starter fertilization matched to soil test
  • Irrigation schedule reprogrammed for germination
  • Follow-up visit at week three to check coverage

November – December

Leaf Season Program

From $295 per visit

Metro Atlanta's oaks drop for eight straight weeks. Scheduled leaf visits keep turf breathing and gutters clear instead of one heroic January cleanup.

  • Recurring visits every 2–3 weeks through drop season
  • Full leaf removal from turf, beds, and hard surfaces
  • Gutter and downspout clearing on request
  • Final cut and clean edge before dormancy

Before first hard frost

Winterization

From $185 per system

One cracked backflow preventer costs more than a decade of blowouts. We shut down irrigation properly and protect what winter attacks first.

  • Irrigation blowout with compressed air, zone by zone
  • Backflow preventer insulation and shutoff
  • Anti-desiccant spray for broadleaf evergreens
  • Frost-cloth install on tender plantings on request
  • Spring restart visit included in the program price

The year, in order

What happens when — and why.

  1. Late Winter · February

    Pre-Season Walkthrough

Program clients get a February site walk with their crew lead: winter damage check, mulch quantity estimate, and a written calendar of every visit for the year ahead. You approve it once — we handle the scheduling from there.

Included free for all program clients
  2. Spring · March–April

Cleanup, Edges & Mulch Down Before the Flush

Everything green in Atlanta wakes up in April. The spring program lands in the four weeks before it does, so beds are edged, mulched, and pre-treated while weeds are still dormant — not after they've won.

Booked in order of program sign-up
  3. Fall · September–October

    The Aeration Window

Fescue lawns in Georgia clay live and die by fall aeration and overseeding. Soil is warm, air is cooling, and seed germinates in 10–14 days. Miss the window and there is no spring makeup date that works as well — which is why program clients get first claim on it.

The most time-critical visit of the year
  4. Winter · November–December

Leaves Out, Water Off, Systems Protected

Leaf visits run on a set cadence through drop season, then we close the year with irrigation blowout and freeze protection before the first hard frost — typically the last week of November in metro Atlanta.

Blowout scheduled by frost forecast, not by date

Common questions

Seasonal program questions.

Can I book just one seasonal program, or do I have to take all four?
Any program can be booked on its own — plenty of clients start with just fall aeration. That said, the four programs are priced as a ladder: bundle two or more and each subsequent program is discounted 10%, because our crew is already familiar with your property and travel is consolidated.
Why is fall aeration such a big deal for Atlanta lawns?
Two reasons: Georgia red clay compacts harder than almost any soil in the country, and turf-type tall fescue — the dominant lawn grass north of the city — only establishes well in the September–October window. Core aeration opens the clay, overseeding fills thin turf, and cool nights let seedlings root before winter. A spring attempt fights soil temperature, pre-emergent conflicts, and summer heat arriving before roots are ready.
How much mulch does the spring program include?
Pricing from $650 covers up to five cubic yards of double-ground hardwood installed at a 2–3 inch depth, which handles a typical quarter-acre metro Atlanta bed layout. Larger properties are quoted from the February walkthrough measurement. We install pine straw instead at the same visit price where beds call for it.
What happens if a hard frost is forecast before my winterization visit?
Program clients are sequenced by frost forecast, not by sign-up date. When the National Weather Service posts a first-freeze watch for your zip code, we move blowouts ahead of all non-urgent work — historically every program system has been shut down before the first hard frost, every year since 2009.
Do seasonal programs replace a monthly maintenance plan?
They complement it. Monthly plans cover the recurring work — mowing, edging, pruning rotations. Seasonal programs cover the calendar-critical projects that monthly visits don't include: bulk mulch, aeration and overseeding, leaf season surges, and irrigation shutdown. Most full-service clients run both; the February walkthrough merges the two schedules into one calendar.
